Colorado Music Quest uses a comprehensive approach for teaching drums that emphasizes the fundamentals while keeping the lessons fun and interesting.

Fundamentals covered include grip, technique, reading, rudiments, coordinated independence, beat/fill studies, transcription studies and ear training. In addition to learning from the traditional method books, students are encouraged to be creative and to learn their favorite songs. Students will also be exposed to the many different styles of drumming with the end result being a solid, well-rounded music education.

Students have the opportunity to perform in concert recitals to gain valuable live playing experience. Our goal for drum students is to have students playing the kind of music they love as quickly as possible while giving them a firm musical foundation, whether they want to play for a hobby or hone their professional skills.
